Seiko watches bought from City Chain Malaysia went Haywire after 2 month

Oh yeah, thats basically it.

2 month ago, my lovely gf bought me a Seiko watch as part of our anniversary + valentine gift. The watch is anything BUT cheap. It is expensive, so lets leave it at that. So now its 2 month later and guess what happened?

The damn watch brokedown. I swear to god, it did not bang it, scratch it or drop it or does anything to warrant getting it broken but there it is, it refuse to work. This is what happened.

The watch will stop whenever the second timer reaches 40 seconds. Shake the watch vigorously when you are wearing it or turn the watch knob a bit and the watch will resume normal operation. Move around while wearing the watch and it will get stuck again. Leave it alone at the altar or table and it will also get stuck and stop again.

Pink Circle: Thats the Second timer which stopped every time it reach 41 sec
Blue Circle: see that circle? thats the alarm circle. It still moves perfectly fine
See the whole watch? Yeah, it stopped at 2. If its working well, its supposed to be in sync with the alarm timer. Which is to meanm its supposed to be 4:15 not 2:00

The battery is perfectly fine, the alarm clock which is another 3rd smaller timer inside the watch which moves in synch with the time also works well. Its just the second timer which counts the second (duh?) that fucks up. I am giving a hell of hurt tonight to the City Chain salesman if he aint polite. Granted the bugger is innocent. I still feel like venting on him. Mr. Nice Guy I am not tonight

Blog post

Huh.... I just realized why I haven't be able to blog lately. Well... not lately but more like for the past one year. The thing is, I am trying too hard to be a gaming blog. I figured that gaming blogs need only talk about games. Hence the lack of post due to the fact that review are not fun to write and sounds too much like a job. I want to write whatever crap I like without the need to answer to people.

Meh, that is also one of the reason for this post I guess... The uselessness of this post is beyond even my explanations. There is no reason for me to post this blog post at all but reason seems to have taken a leave of absent so expect me to rant. A lot. Which reminds me, I have another thing to rant about Seiko watches.

Really bad day

Ever had one of those really really bad day when you want to just smack everything in sight and break some legs? I am having one of those days now. I couldn't get that satisfying nagging feeling that I would feel pretty good if I flip my desk over, throw my desktop at the unfortunate soul seating across me and then do a bit of WWE chair smacking on another unfortunate soul.

Meh, this is the time of the day that I can relate to the game Grand Theft Auto. Granted I find the senseless killing that I do ingame whenever I play it as nauseatingly stupid, I still couldn't let go of the feeling that at least someone is churning out the right game for the masses.

Let er rip boys!

Bose- In Ear

So I have been hunting for the right earphone, considering the fact that I am a picky person it took me a REALLY long time to find which one that suits me. So I tried out some earphones from Sony, (didn't like it, too normal), Philips In-Ear (not bad sound but the rubber is irritating when it rubs against my body and create shrak shrak sounds) then I tested out Shure, Senheisher and what not which is way over my budget.

2 months down the road I found a little thread by a relatively unknown fellow (to me) in a local forum. He is selling an OEM version of Bose in-ear. Now the thing is, he started off the thread by INSISTING that he is selling OEM, not original. He also kept a well updated thread and lots of imformation that is relevant and appreciated. But what was interesting is his pricing. Its competitive like hell.

An original BOSE In-Ear goes for 99usd, he was selling the OEM version at 49.30usd. Virtually halve priced! That perks my cautious radar. But he did a thorough comparision for his product against known fake BOSE in-ear and his OEM came out the winnah. I took the plunged and order a set. This is the part where it gets interesting

Authencity Review

I did a little bit of comparison myself and this is what I manage to came up with based on a site I found online.

The site above provided picture to picture comparison of each item and comparing it to the current one I have, it scored all on authencity.

Personal Review

Comfort

The comfort level for this is high. That much I can tell you first. I had a number of In-ear phones and each of them have their own quirks. The in-ear makes my ear feel pain, or the cables create weird shreeking noise when I move around and various others.

BOSE-In Ear works on a different concept altogether. It is called In-Ear but in essences, it stays outside the ear and have the rubber tip going into your ear, giving you THAT In-Ear music without the need to fully seal off your ear. This of course means that you are privy to everything that happens and all the sounds that will disturb your music. So the logical thing to do next is to crank up the music, and that's exactly what I did.

Sound

Now there are a lot of those different frequency thingy machingy. I had zero knowledge about that but cranking up the music does not by any chance distort or crack the music, in fact, the louder it goes, the crispier it is. But maybe coz the music is louder....

It is also worth mentioning that the sound emitted from BOSE In-Ear is heavier on bass and not so good on the treble. Its a very good set of earphone if you punch your head clean full of heavy bassed music. In fact, listening to Tocas Miracle by Fragma, my heart thumped faster. It is good. It gave me goosebump.  but if you are more of the classical music listener well, the sound came out nice but.... it can be better.

Furthermore, the sound sounded (pun intended) a bit rounded on the edges, I am not sure why but when compared to my Creative In-ear which admittedly have been used for some time and requires no burn-in. The creative has a clearer crispier sound but it also has slight crackling sound at the volume i was pumping the music.

But the BOSE In-Ear also provides some of the clearer version of the music I have been hearing. I can now sometimes pick up apart a few of the sound that were mixed together. Granted I have only used the fellow for less than 3 hour. After burning it in for a couple of hours more ( 30++ or was it 50++?) the sound might be different then.

Conclusion

So if you asked me, is this a good buy? Time will tell if this will live up to the original BOSE, but it is a damn good buy for the price offered now. With the high base and good treble. Get this if you can and are on budget. If you have more to throw though, invest in those higher higher ends.

First 5! Avalon Code DS

Avalon Code is seriously one of the most unique action role-playing game I have played. Now, the game starts off with the familiar story of chosen hero, sword of truth hero guardian thingy. Now the mechanics is also the familiar hack & slash thingy until an interesting NEW mechanic is introduced. The Book of Prophecy.

Now, the idea of The Book of Prophecy is that the world is dying. And you the lucky one get to record all the good stuff in this old world which can be copied over into the new and improved version. What's cool about this book is that you get to do what your teacher has been doing when you doze off. Smack yah with the book. Well, with the Book of Prophecy you get to smack everything from friends, gears, plants, enemies & weapons and then their data will be stored into the book. Once in the book you get to reorder it's "code" to make it better, weaker, flameable and what not. Which opens a new possibility of gaming! e.g.: A tough monster is giving your trouble, Smack the fellow, add an ILL "code" which will reduce its health and you get yourself a weaker version of the same monster. Cool eh?

Granted you can only set aside 4" code"s at one shot and each "code" can vary in shape and sizes which create a heck of a puzzle itself. Granted, the amount you can hold will be increased over time. Now, the book also act as the save file, load file, map, glossary, history book and all that - which is a pretty good way excuse of chunking everything into one area at the lower screen. Good use of space! Control of character is with D-pad and certain things require the use of touchscreen but generally the battle is done using the control pad and anything book related is touchscreened.

Summary

This game is a new an revolutionary way of changing the ARPG mechanics that have been around for sometime breathing a fresh breath into the otherwise simple hack and slash. I have yet to explore deep into the game but this is one of the more promising must get game available.
It is quite an injustice when you realise that this game is not that well known due to its lack of advertising. But don't let that deter you, so get this game at Play-Asia HERE.

Define Valentine

My colleague asked me to define Valentine. The spur of the moment made me create a short definition of Valentine.Read on!

A moment where couples express their love by buying each other gifts more expensive than the other in an act to proclaim their love and willingness to spend money on them while inciting their partner to stay on with them till the next valentine in hope of getting a more expensive gifts.

Valentine is also a moment for none couple to buy the intended person an expensive gift while trying to impress them with extravaganza offer on a night that can never be forgiven in the hope of snagging them in a web of deceit and love. It is also a moment where they will try their best to impress them over other rivals while taking advantage of the situation to hold the counterpart hand in an act that can be deemed as scandalous or "pok mong"

Valentine for couples that are trying to bypass the whole awkward situation call it quits by promising each other that they shall not buy any gifts for each other in an act to show that they do not care for valentine because they celebrate valentine everyday. It is also an unashamed way to get out of buying each other gifts and save on money that can be spent on other things. For example, that new console they have been eyeing.
