Tv Tuner for DS ( Lite )

You could have probably seen it coming from a mile away. I for one did not. Apparently this Tv Tuner uses only slot 1 and allows user to tune it to whatever channel they want manually. The top screen is used as the TV while the bottom screen is used as the remote. Pretty interesting stuff. There is only one minor little problem. Can it work?

Did I mention that this is an OFFICIAL product from Nintendo?

There are 6 available character. Frankly I can only name 3 of them. What about you guys?
The Stylus will be available on October. Do make your preorder now. It is well known any Animal Crossing related item gets out of stock fast.

Whats your first console?

Do you remember the time when you bought your first console or your first hand held console? I remeber mine. I can trace it all the way to the first Gameboy Light which was made a couple of year after GameBoy I believe. From there I moved on to my second Gameboy Color. I was super excited when I got it. That was the time Pokemon Red and Blue came out. I even got all 151 pokemon that time!

Anyway, after awhile I managed to trade in my Game Boy Color to a Game Boy Advance. A white one If I don't remember wrongly. but the color doesn't suit me. So I trade it in again for a clear purple GBA. After 3 years or more down the road, I lost contact with my GBA. It laid dorment in a dark corner of my room for so long until I came to KL a year and a half ago ( time passes by so fast)

Then half a year or so ago, I got my DS Lite. Frankly I was looking for a way out from playing World Of Warcraft. It was an escape from griefing low level idiots and killing rogue, shaman and warrior at the same time. ( I am a Mage you see. Skillful one if I may say so)

There is a pattern to my gaming life. All my gaming console are either handheld or portable. Maybe because its easier to keep or hide it from prying eyes. Or maybe I like my gaming on the go. I am never pulled towards PS3 or Wii. Now though, my next console target is a PSP.

Can you trace your Nintendo gaming history or Gaming history in general?

Nintendo DS Lite Special Edition ( SE )

The other day a friend of mind sent me a link to this KINGDOM HEARTS SE . I immediately fell in love with it. I wanted to get it but Play-Asia ran out of stock for this particular item. It also doesn't help when the item itself has been out for 4 years already.
Not giving up, I cruise around the net looking for any seller selling it. And LO AND BEHOLD!~ I found a seller from Japan selling that KH SE for 300 USD! Holy Crap! Fine, I give up. The amount is too much for me to stomach. I might like it. But I don't Like it THAT much.

This few days has seen the launching of 2 Nintendo DS Lite Special Edition. One is to commorate 20 years of certain something. ( I had no idea what it is) Apparently it has something to do with trains. Judging by the look of the design on the casing. The NDSL SE comes with a game called Momotarou Dentetsu DS: Tokyo & Japan.

Then I found another one which everyone can relate to. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings ( -Sky Pirate Edition ). The design of this particular NDSL SE is not really that special. What intrigued me is in the title itself. Sky Pirate Edition? Does that mean there will be more then one edition sold in the future? Heck if there is. I might get it. Of course, if the price is "appropriate" that is.

Animal Crossing Character Bottle Phone Strap Gashapon

I finally got my Animal Crossing! YAY!!! I seriously got nothing to say about this but boy this Animal Crossing Phone Strap is cute and pretty! And its a good way to attract girls attention too if you are a guy. Good as a gift too btw.
The doll and the gift box is made out of a soft synthetic like thing which can be pressed but still retain a slight hardness. The bottle is made out of plastic. And apparently you can write a short note and keep it in the bottle. Pretty darn good way to use this as a way to "court" girls. If you know what I mean. Wink Wink

Well, if you want a piece of this baby, Head HERE for it

P/S : I realize that I only post about certain items if I were to purchase it. But... Lets just say I don't buy lots of item lately.. Except for a screen and skin protector which I screwed up during installation.

More Design for Modding DS Lite

I might not be posting for the past 2 weeks. That doesn't mean I have been slacking off on designing for my DS Lite, In light of the fact I got a printer for review purpose, I fully utilized the time I had with the printer and this Is what I got to show for it.

There is a few more but those are ugly like hell. Looks good on design but on the DS its one ugly piece of design. Just an fyi, most of the white spot you see on the DS is not reflection. They are the design itself.

Enjoy!

DS LITE! Modded??

A lot of brilliant ideas are born from stupid thoughts or copied from every other person they see and then call them as their own. Some went further and grab all the ideas that they see and mix them up to make it their own. I have no idea what to call that. A moment of enlightenment perhaps? No matter! That moment of "brilliance" struck me when I had nothing to do.

Long story short, I saw a post online about how china user modded their DS Lite casing to look cooler and funkier with graffiti arts, I was intrigued and wish to investigate more, but the language barrier was huge and I was stopped short at the forum where they discuss it. Add in the fact that I just sold off my Soft Jacket ADV to my uncle, I am in desperate need of getting a new casing that looks cool on my DS Lite.

Then the moment of brilliance struck and this is the result of it all

Crystal Casing : $35
Printer Ink: $10
Plain Paper: $0.05
Ingenuity: Priceless

Wanna know how to make your own modification? SIMPLE!
Follow the steps below.

First, head over to MADCATZ (props to them for making such a fine fine program or whatever you call it) Download the program listed there, install it
Then, go over to DEVIANTART and find whatever picture you like, save it
Open the chosen picture with the Madcatz program and then align the picture up. First do the Top then the Base.
Print it out, cut it and there you have it. Skin of your own!

Wait.. I am missing something. Oh yeah...
You need to buy a crystal casing and not just any crystal casing. You need to buy a full face crystal casing. None of those china brand please. Recommended casing would be Blackhorn Polycarbonate Case, Madcatz Casing if you are in the states or if you really really can't find a suitable casing, get a crystal casing which is FULL FACE. Meaning it covers the top part of your DS fully. No empty spaces thank you.

Anyway, to continue with the tutorial, once you got the casing put the cut out design into the casing, align it properly and then snap on your DS, no glues or sticker or anything is needed.

There you have it. Your very own modded DS. Sky is the limit for the design. If you find a cool design post it up here and share it with the rest of us. Have fun yah!
