A few months back I bought a Kingdom Hearts II postcard book. Not exactly one of the best art available. the KHII Post Card book is still a good set of art in my room. As fate has it, curiosity lead me to clicking onto the Post card book link in Play-Asia. And this are some of the stuff I found there that have quite good art.

For those that have known me, they would be able to see the obsession i have for FullMetal Alchemist. For those that know me but didn't know that little fact, it means I am full of mystery and you shalt never understand the depth of my artistic love! HAH!

That said, for those that have no idea who is FullMetal Alchemist, shame on you! It is like the greatest manga EVER! Worse anime and movie though. No argument about that but the depth of the manga is so deep its scary. That said, let me give a brief history and recap about FullMetal Alchemist

Hagane no Renkinjutsushi or better known as Fullmetal Alchemist tells the story of two brothers and the struggle for them to survive, to thrive and to mature. Created by Hiromu Arakawa ( a chick mind you ) FMA is known best on their alchemy. A long dead skill which was said to be nothing but fanciful thinking. Witchcraft, some would call it but with a twist. Alchemy combines the element of Chemistry, Biology, Physic and magic in one shot. The ultimate science, so to speak. Where matter can be converted if you understand the chemistry of it, and reconstruct to whatever matter that you want it to be as long as its made out of the same strand of Chemistry. Cool eh?

Anyway, its not the alchemy that captures my heart. Its the character, the mystery that was weave into the many woven history of the manga and how the character evolve, how layer after layer of the story are unveiled like onion skin. The humor of the story is vast and hits the spot. The fight skin are creatively imagined and the graphic is just spectacular. No details are too minor to ignore and no character are too minor to be forsaken. God bless Arakawa.

Anyway, FMA is a good story to read. It makes you think of what is right and what is wrong. Is everything done for greater good is good? Is everything the way its supposed to be? Do you take life for granted and lastly the motto of the anime.

Anyway, the gist of the post today is that I found two artbook of Full Metal Alchemist on Play-Asia. Retailing at US 22.90. I would be buying both book pretty soon. The thing is this, I only have enough fund to get one now. Anyone wanna sponsor the other one for me?

Code Geass Skin & Happy Birthday Dyna!

I loved the anime Code Geass so I thought why not make a skin out of Lelouch. That was over 2 weeks ago and boy, have I crumpled a huge amount of paper and deleted plenty of file from my laptop while designing a nice Code Geass skin. Anyway, I was telling Dyna about it and he asked me to give him the challenge of designing one. 5 minute after that and he went offline.

So I decided to try one last time and see what happened and this is what I got.



Not half bad eh? I admit this is just a cut and paste job but hey! I am still learning ok? I wonder if there is any fancy thing i can do for the background.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Post Card Book

Well, I actually got this way back in May.I haven't had much chance to talk about it or flip through it coz of my lack of time and brain cell to process this piece of fine art. Anyway, I kind of like this postcard book. Although the art is a bit "different" from what I Imagined it to be, the book overall quality is top notch. The paper is made out of thick glossy paper.

Kind of like fancy postcard paper. If you get what I mean. Anyway, whats disappointing for me is the art itself. I was fully expecting it to be hand drawn special art from the KH artist but instead, what I got is the art you can get anywhere else. Albeit the fact that this one is slightly nicer.

Overall quality I dare say this is good. But if you are looking for something better, I suggest look elsewhere.

Kingdom Hearts 2 or Jump Ultimate Superstar?

I am giddy. Yes sir I am. I just found two very nice art book/post card by and Kingdom Hearts II: Post Card Book and Jump Ultimate Stars Postcard Book . Jump Ultimate star has been out for quite some time. It was thrown into the New Year sales basket somewhere around February and was snapped up in an instant. Now its back again at Play-Asia. The book features over 41 postcard with artwork from each manga found in the Jump Comic and also Jump Ultimate Stars DS Game A short review of it can be found here at Nineoverten

I am more interested in the Kingdom Hearts II: Post Card Book though reason being it looks erm.. Cooler? Apparently the KH 2 post card book comes with 27 extra wide postcards, featuring colorful illustrations and game graphics, printed on extra heavy card stock, and an 8 page monochrome character profile gallery. Its more then a Post Card. Its a collection book! I am torn man, seriously I do not know which one to get..

Ok fine. I want to get the Kingdom Hearts Post Card book but is it worth the buy? Or should i just keep all that and get a Tamagotchi for my pig?
