Reviewed: Stationary Style Set DS Lite

Stationary Style Set DS Lite

I purchased this over 2 weeks ago out of whim and the need to satisfy my itchy finger. It was supposed to dual as a cover for Pocket Book DS Lite (orange) but apparently the Pocket Book ran out of stock before it even had stock! ( i suspect foul play) Anyway, I took a number of picture of the Stationary Style Set and surprisingly enough. I like it.

Ok I can see the twinge of skepticisms on your eye. The thing is this, the Stationary Style Set DS Lite had been on sale since December last year and it is still on sale now. So there must be something wrong with it. Correct? I can see the problem with people not buying this Stationary Style Set DS Lite is due to the lack of pictures of the set. ( Which I will remedy with all the pictures at the bottom. Anyway, to get the short review going. I would start off with the material of the Pouch and work my way through to the whole shebang.

Stationary Style Set DS Lite - Pouch

The pouch is made out of jean like material which gives it a firm and strong feeling. The inside of the pouch is padded with thin layer of sponge which does not really give it much of a protection but does well to prevent scratch. The outer layer of the pouch is laced with an outer pocket held together by those stick on thingy. ( I have no idea what its call and its hairy and cling on to each other ). Inside the outer pocket, there is another built in DS game slot for two games. Which is more then enough for certain gamers. On top of that, there is also a small slot where the Stylus c an be strapped on. Talk about good thinking!

Stationary Style Set DS Lite - Stylus & Screen Cleaner

The stylus is something that everyone are familiar with. Its strong, its hard and we grow with it. Style as the conventional pencil that most people are familiar with, the 6 edged Hexagon pencil gives the user ( which is me ) a very good feeling. Granted it looks clumsy and feel clumsy when playing games that require fast movement. But the Pencil Stylus is large and long enough for user that have big palm ( again, me ). Its comfortable and nice although at times you can't really see the screen considering that the stylus blocks off part of the bottom screen. That said, I would not trade of this stylus for anything else as it is VERY comfortable and Nice.

The screen cleaner is something new. Designed to look like a Eraser, the screen cleaner is large and gives the user good grip to clean off the screen. It also provides a good range when cleaning the screen. What this Screen cleaner does right though is in the way its design. A spring strap is incorporated into the design to enable the user to move the screen cleaner anyway they want while allowing the screen cleaner to be strapped onto the back of your NDSL. Nice move if you ask me.

Stationary Style Set DS Lite - Conclusion

All in all, the conclusion is that, Stationary Style Set DS Lite which is sensibly priced at USD 12.90 ( RM 45.67 ) is a good buy. The Pouch is thin and does not take up much space, the stylus is comfortable and the screen cleaner is pratical. Although, if you are looking for a sturdy protection pouch, I would give this a pass as the cushioning is not thick enough. I manage to solve this problem by putting my NDSL in a Crystal Casing and then using the pouch. This is a good compromise considering that the casing protects the NDSL and the Pouch protects the Casing without taking a huge space.

Touch Pen Knock Metal (The Legend of Zelda)

After putting it on Pre-Order for the past month, they FINALLY released a picture of the Touch Pen Knock Metal (The Legend of Zelda) together with the price. It comes with two stylus designed differently. The stylus does not look metal to me though. Does it?

The Root Of All Evil!

There I was, strolling along happily to my rabbit hole to get some dough for the month. I took out my safety box and checked the amount. Shocked I was when I found out I barely have enough to survive!

This is the picture I get yesterday. My fund for this month has dwindled to CRITICAL level. I owe people money and there are quite a few games that I want to get. Meh... What is the root of all this Evil? Who took my money? Donning my Sherlock Holmes hat, I traced my financial statement and found the answer in Play-Asia

I bought no less then 10 Gashapon from Play-Asia and spend more of them on the gashapon machine found all over Kuala Lumpur. GAH! GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY!

I blame it all on the following item. Click to see their evil picture

Nintendo DS Character Touch Pen Pocket Monster Diamond & Pearl Version Gashapon
Bleach EX 2 Phone Strap Gashapon
Nintendo Super Mario Bros. Phone Strap Gashapon
Nintendo DS Lite Software Collection 5 Keychain Gashapon
Animal Crossing Scene Changes Keychain - Crazy Redd
Animal Crossing Scene Changes Keychain - Tom Nook
Nintendo DS Pop-up Card Case Phone Strap

Damn you all!

Nintendo DS Character Touch Pen Super Mario Bros. Yoshi Island Version Gashapon

By now you would have realized that I am a sucker for Touch Pen gashapon and also Gashapon in general. But this set is just pushing it. 10 different coloured Yoshi touch pen gashapon with a phone strap for its egg. This is just lazy work! Print out 10000 of this, paint it in 10 different colour and sell it off as one collection? COME ON!

I am not even going to justify it with a picture. Sheessh

Taiko no Tatsujin DS

Lots of raving review. Most say this is a good game, I say its a good deal. And do you know why?

The game cost the same as every other hot games. But it also gives you 2 extra "cute" stylus to play the game with. Personally, I would say this is an added value. If you like rhythm game such as EBA, Ouendan and Nodame Cantible. You might want to give Taiko no Tatsujin a look.

But there is also a problem when playing this game. Both your hand would be holding a stylus, your DS would have to be left on its own device on a desk. I own a Play Stand DS Lite which is a handy tool to hold your DS on display or to hold your DS when you are playing a game such as Taiko no Tatsujin. Check it out

Animal Crossing DS Stylus

Animal Crossing DS Stylus
I missed the first batch of Animal Crossing DS Stylus featuring Tom Nook and Crazy Redd. 2 of my favourite character. It's too bad that this time around they are not featuring them in the stylus.

There are 6 available character. Frankly I can only name 3 of them. What about you guys?
The Stylus will be available on October. Do make your preorder now. It is well known any Animal Crossing related item gets out of stock fast.

Pre-Order Free Gifts

After a draught of over 2 months from all the Hyped out cool games. A week from now, there will be none stop launching of games for the next 1 month or so. Which is very bad for people with little budget like me.

To pull in more sales, games are now starting to give Pre-Order Gifts bundled with the game. 2 of the more noticeable games are

Subarashiki Kono Sekai: It's a Wonderful World

Which comes with a miniature kitten to called Pochi a stuffed cat that plays into Shiki Misaki's (IAWW's female lead) special attack (quoted from DSfanboy)

Taiko no Tatsujin DS

Which comes with not 1 but 2 Taiko Stylus for the game. Pretty cool item. Not really that pretty though.

Zelda

Call your self a fan of Zelda?

No self respecting Self portrayed Zelda Fan would be caught dead without a Zelda item somewhere on their body. I would really ( really ) like to get one of this

But the said item was sold out 2 years ago around 2005. So meh.. I guess I will make do with either a

Touch Pen Knock Metal (The Legend of Zelda) from Tomy

or

The Legend of Zelda Fabric Case (green) from Sanei

or

The Legend of Zelda Fabric Case (blue) from Sanei

I have no idea how those looks but meh. Anything Zeldish would do well in my dictionary
I do hope they will make a keychain or phone strap thingy of Zelda again. Those on top really really look nice..

For those that have been too out of touch with gaming world, a The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass english version is expected to be out by August this year. Currently the japanese version called er... The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is already out in the market. I would suggest waiting for the english version if you can't really read japanese as Zelda games can be categorized under ARPG which means it involves puzzle solving and some reading.

Nintendo DS Wrist Strap + Thumb Stylus

I have no idea what to call this, DS original Strap maybe? I FINALLY got this after looking for it for quite some time. Finally found a good samatarian that sold this to me. Apparently he tossed it somewhere and found it back after a I asked for it.

Anyway, the strap is longer then the conventional DS Lite Strap. A lot more longer actually as the strap can double as a thumb stylus. The strap has this small plastic pad attached to it which allows the user to put it under their thumb and use it on the go.

Apparently the pad is designed for use on a game that requires sliding type of control. Whatever that means. But, I do found out that this is a good addition to my DS Lite as it allows me to just strap on and go. But dont expect this pad to be used in pin point accuracy game as the pad is huge and I highly doubt that you can see your touch screen with your thumb over it

But yeah, this is pretty good if you are an avid FPS gamer on DS as it allows you much greater control and hold over your DS lite.

Don't ask me where to get this coz it took me a pretty long time to find it. If you want one, I say good luck to you!

This has nothing to do with the Wrist strap, just wanna show my new design for my DS Lite thankz to Dyna's idea.

Nintendo DS Character Touch Pen New Super Mario Bros. Version Gashapon

This is just an update for those screaming that they did not get the New Super Mario Bros touch pen Gashapon. It seems due to popular Demand, the Touch Pen is back yet again. My suggestion? Get the Nintendo DS Character Touch Pen New Super Mario Bros. Version Gashapon fast before it ran out of stock yet again!

Did I mention that I have one of this pen? Its pretty nice actually. Host-Play a fellow forumer's blog actually have a short review about it here.

Lots of Touch Pen for DS Part 2

Until now though, the ever popular Touch pen would be the

COMFORTABLE TOUCH PEN DS LITE which as sold more then I can ever count and last I remembered would be the 4th time they restocked. Yeap, thats how popular this touch pen is!

Personally I have at least 3 set of touch pen. Each one sold out already due to the ever popularity of it or cannot be found on Play-Asia. One is the extendable metal touch pen, another is a Nintendog DS touch pen and the last one is a broken off metal touch pen. ( Will tell you how it broke off in the future ) Currently what I am looking into though is a LITE SLIPON PUNCHING POUCH. Weirdest name I ever heard but damn the pouch sure looks cool. what with the bee hive hole and the nice even whitish color. Again, the pouch has two colour. WHITE and BLACK.

The one last thing I have been eyeing though is this INNER EAR EARPHONE for DS Lite. It looks decent but what I am more concerned for is the sounds. If anyone had one of the hori earphone. Give me a holler and tell me how the sound is like. Or else I will be keeping my money and getting a SHURE earphone.

Lots of Touch Pen for DS Part 1

Oooohh boy, I haven't been to Play-Asia for sometime but when I checked in yesterday I found a slew of Touch pen that was recently launched. There are some that had restocked while others was newly stocked. All in all there are at least 5 type of DS Stylus that is contending for the best seller. Personally, I wanted one of the metal stylus.Like the one found HERE. They had two choices. A BLACK Metal stylus and a WHITE metal stylus. I am leaning towards the SILVER metal stylus though. It looks.. shiny..

Then there is another type found HERE which had 3 type of colour. A fellow friend bought a BLACK stylus while another fellow bought the PINK stylus. Again for this stylus, I am vying for the WHITE one. This set of stylus though is worth the money as it is bundled with 2 of the TOUCH PEN DS LITE. So basically you get 3 Styli in one set! Talk about value added!

Touch Pen DS Max though have been making wave after wave of appearance. The first appearance was when they launched 4 color of the Touch Pen. Orange, Lime Green, Black and Navy. Now though they had launched another 3 color available in Play-Asia. PINK, WHITE and LIGHT BLUE are the 3 colors available. It is not really that nice if you ask me. Though that might be because Play-Asia has a bad photographer.

The new contender from Sanei decided to try their hands on Touch Pen too, I must say though their design is successful, to a certain degree that is. Their touch pen is not exactly revolutionary. Their touch pen is designed.. Well. designed like a pencil if I may say so. Its ironic yet quite a novelty if I may say so. There are of course 2 color for user to choose from. A GREEN and ORANGE Touch Pen.

Keroro Gunso + Dragon Ball + Animal Crossing

I am high, in fact I think I am about to collapse right about 2 second after I finish typing all this. Let me start the story from the beginning. So here I am, innocently browsing through Play-Asia and seeing if there is anything new or cute or fun there. I can't help it. Even if I can't afford it at least I can look at it right? Anyway, there I am looking and looking and then I found this few items. To understand the nature of my happiness, it should be noted that la froggie ( keroro ), Dragon Ball and Tom Nook are one of the few character and manga that I keep up with all the time. Obviously Tom Nook is from AC and he likes to squeeze us off in-game. But now, out of game he is still squeezing us off.

The Dragon Ball sticker is not really as nice, it looks 2nd rate and although they gave us two choice, the first one featuring Goku,Goten,Trunk and Goku Super Saiyan.
The second one though feature the bad guys turn good guys. Vegeta,Picollo and young Son Goku

The dragon ball pouch though is a nice change, featuring three different design with three different symbol, the design looks simple and makes you feel like you are part of the house that bore the symbol. The three symbol are Capsule, Kamesen and Bikoro.

Lastly there is the Keroro. If you say you don't know who is Keroro then seriously, you need to start to get in touch with your inner self. Keroro is the alien froggie that is set to invade earth but ended up serving as a servant to a human family.
There are 4 item featured for the Keroro family. Two pouch and two screen pouch and sticker set.

The first sticker set features Keroro gunso, It looks nice and all but I seriously prefer the second set featuring Giroro. It looks a lot more cooler and menacing in a sense.

Then there is the two pouch. Again, somehow it seems the Giroro Pouch is getting all the love in terms of design, a skull in between the eye and a scar across the eye makes the design looks all more eye catching.
The Giroro Pouch design though is slightly disheartening. A pair of eye that looks as if they wanted to sleep and a star in between the eye. Bleh, ugly and not nice at all

But the GEM of it all is the the Animal Crossing Protective Cover and Touch Pen DS Lite. The protective cover is white and have the Tom Nook symbol etched smacked in the middle, not bad. But the stylus.. OMG! Tom Nook standing there! How can any fans of Animal Crossing resist that?!

Of course, I would have to make a pass at this piece of fine fine item because of my Modded DS Lite. I don't think my gf will take it kindly if I spend money buying the Animal Crossing Protective cover.
